our tea-light holders will beautify any room. Salt tea-light holders also can be used in the home as an ionic air purifier, reducing electromagnetic pollution and helping those people with asthma and upper respiratory problems. They are also ideal as natural mood elevators.
The salt crystal tea-light holders bind the negative ions with excess positive ions(produced by electrical appliances and computers. When the lamps become warm, they absorb moisture and the surface crystals become damp. This builds up the ion field. Placed by a computer, it will help neutralize the electromagnetic pollution emitted by computers and office equipment. Salt lamps improve your concentration and enhance your environment.

It is believed that Celtic High Crosses were constructed to mark a sacred space and to declare Christian beliefs. Basically is was a sign saying "This is hallowed ground, keep its peace."
Crosses were also a focal point of celebrations. Some High Crosses were build to denote where a market place would be. Others were erected to commemorate an important event or person.
It is not known for certain where, when or even why the first High Crosses were erected because the first crosses were probably made out of wood. Some stone crosses are from the 8th and 9th century and are probably associated with many of the medieval monasteries of Ireland.
The Kilfenora High Cross dates back to the 12th century. Kilfenora was the site of an important early monastic settlement. St. Fachtna founded an Abbey here in the 6th century. Kilfenora gained the title "City of Crosses" a reference to the High Crosses within or near the cathedral, 3 of which still remain.

GARGOYLES
FRONT
BACK
IIt is believed that gargoyles were created by medieval architects and stone carvers to function as waterspouts, directing water away from a building. When constructed on churches they were the guardians of the church and kept the evil spirits away (along with the rain). I don't know what those medieval carvers were drinking or inhaling, but they sure had a scary imagination!
The word Gargoyle is derived from the French word gargouille, meaning to gargle.
